Assessing and understanding your personal transformation
" The species that survive are not the strongest, nor the most intelligent, but the ones most responsive to change. "
Darwin
Long live healthy narcissism: we are constantly transforming, and it’s essential to calibrate that transformation using objective measurement tools.
Without falling into the extremes of the quantified self, I felt the need to assess my health with a smartwatch, and to track the evolution of my strengths using a psychometrically reliable tool: Gallup CliftonStrengths. I found it fascinating to observe this evolution by comparing my assessments from April 2017 and March 2024, and to notice a remarkable stability.
In fact, among my top ten talents identified in 2017, seven still appear in the top 10 today: Maximizer, Futuristic, Strategic, Arranger, Ideation, and Learner, with a dominance of Strategic and Influence themes. Maximizer, which ranked first, is now fourth, while Arranger, previously fifth, has become number one. My core strengths remain unchanged: Arranger, Maximizer, Strategic, and Futuristic.
Significant progress in 3 areas:
Individualization, which ranked 17th, is now 2nd. I attribute this shift to the fact that I now work almost exclusively with CEOs and C-level leaders, with whom I must quickly build deep trust and alignment.
Activator has moved from 15th to 7th: I’m increasingly turning ideas into action (CSR, AI, digital, etc.).
Analytical rose from 19th to 10th, while Input jumped from 26th to 17th. This shift reflects the growing role of digital in my work. I'm currently implementing a CRM to better nurture client and partner relationships and enhancing my AI skills.
Notable decrease in 3 areas:
Command dropped from 6th to 15th—a result of EMDR work that uncovered an old belief tied to bullying I experienced as a child.
Significance moved from 7th to 19th, as I’ve become more pragmatic about my societal impact, and Responsibility fell from 10th to 16th.
Developer improved from 29th to 21st, which I’m pleased about, as I’ve invested energy in supporting my team’s development (digitalization, AI, CSR, offers…).
My 5 lowest-ranked strengths remain unchanged—which makes sense, as I haven’t worked on them and none are critical to my professional path. Belief dropped from 20th to 30th because Analytical and Input significantly rose—linked to my shift toward a more digital, AI-driven, and analytical strategy.
In short, I’m fully aligned with this evolution of my strengths: I remain a coach and supervisor who leads with strong strategy and influence.
